The mission of weareYOU

… is to inspire and empower the next generation of college-goers with the promise a college education makes possible.  No matter how far you’ve come on your own college journey, you already said “yes” to that.

Your story about what applying and enrolling in college was like for you has the potential to change the course of someone’s college choice journey today.  Who stood in your way, what frightened you, how were you challenged?  It may have been your parents, your passions, your finances, or your test scores. What did you do to get past it, to breakthrough?

Whatever it was, it may not seem like that big of a deal to you now, but chances are, someone on the journey today is facing something like it.  And the simple fact of knowing she’s not alone could make all the difference.  Your story may be the thing to change her mind, give him hope, inspire their dreams.

  • Because it helps to start with a prompt, we have one that’s straight-forward. The rest will flow from your honest and genuine answer to it.

In one word, college means to me

  • As long as you stay true, your tale will conclude naturally with a simple yet powerful coda. We ask that you complete your story with it.

“My name is            , and I AM YOU.”

No hero is perfect.  It’s our cracks that make us real and our experiences that make us relevant.  Give the gift of honesty, transparency, and empathy.  Be a hero to a kid today!

The shortest distance between a human being and the truth is a story.
